Chemical odor troubles some mall shoppers in TucsonPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Thanksgiving weekend is one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year, and complaints about a chemical odor made for an even crazier scene at the Park Place mall Sunday.
Shoppers began noticing the fumes just after four this afternoon. A dozen stores closed their doors.
Captain Trish Tracy of the Tucson Fire Department says the odor came from some remodeling on the mall's north side.
Stores not affected stayed open as scheduled until 6 O'Clock. The entire mall will re-open Monday morning.
