PHOENIX -- A Phoenix woman got an unexpected surprise Monday morning when a taxicab slammed into her house near Van Buren and 44th streets and ended up in the living room.
Barbie Gutierrez was in the kitchen at the time but said she was in her living room just minutes before the crash.
"I thought the a/c unit had fallen through or something because all the brick came flying and there was cement dust everywhere then I saw the car," Gutierrez said.
Phoenix police Sgt. Sean Coutts said a driver failed to yield to the off-duty cab and clipped the back of the taxi, sending it spiraling out of control and into the house at Fillmore and 41st streets.
No one was injured in the incident.
