VALLE, Ariz. (AP) -- A helicopter pilot has been injured after he's forced to make a hard landing at the Valle Airport in northern Arizona halfway between Williams and the Grand Canyon.
A spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration says the pilot put the aircraft down around 9:30 a.m. after reporting a possible problem with the helicopter's transmission.
The pilot was flown out of the crash site to a northern Arizona medical facility. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating.
