SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Police arrested a Prescott couple after they reportedly were seen using drugs in a Scottsdale hotel room while their baby was present.
Scottsdale police were called to the La Quinta Inn near Shea Boulevard and Loop 101 Sunday afternoon. Officers were told that cleaning people saw two adults smoking a drug with a strange odor while a baby was in a nearby playpen.
Officers went into the room and found an 11-month-old child along with various drugs, including heroin. They said the parents appeared intoxicated.
Matthew Nakihei, 25, and Stefani Bindes, 34, were taken into custody on various drug charges and endangerment.
The child was turned over to Child Protective Services.
