Ali to attend Frazier funeralPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Reports out of Philadelphia say boxing legend Muhammad Ali is planning to attend the funeral of another boxing legend, Joe Frazier. A public viewing is taking place Friday and Saturday. Services will take place Monday November 14th at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Frazier died Monday after a brief fight with liver cancer. He was 67.
In 1971 Frazier became the first man to defeat Muhammad Ali in the so-called "Fight of the Century" at Madison Square Garden. Frazier then lost two other fights to Ali, including the epic "Thrilla in Manila." Ali and Frazier had a strained relationship for many years. Frazier was bitter for the way Ali taunted him, but the former heavyweight boxing champions did reconcile in later years.
