DUI suspected in fatal Scottsdale crash

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz -- Police are investigating a fatal crash overnight in Scottsdale.  The accident happened just before 1 am at 6300 east Oak street.

Police say a 26-year old man was beind the wheel of a 2009 Toyota Yaris and was approaching 64th street when he lost control and drove through the landscape of a building. The impact caused the car to flip and then collide with a light pole and parked car. The driver who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected and died at the scene. A 23-year old passenger who was wearing a seatbelt sustained minor injuries. Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
