TUCSON, Ariz. -- The most visible group against the proposed Rosemont Copper mine is planning informational workshops.
Save the Santa Ritas will hold public workshops explaining serious impacts they believe the mine would create.
They claim the mine won't prevent a decrease in air quality, less groundwater, and the higher likelihood of toxics in the aquifer.
"This is the wrong mine in the wrong place at the wrong time by their own company. There's nothing good about this proposal," said Roger Featherstone with the Arizona Mining Reform Coalition
Save the Santa Ritas will hold their first of four workshops Thursday night at 6:30.
It will be held at Grace-St. Paul Episcopal church, four blocks north of Speedway between Campbell and Tucson.
