GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Two suspects are behind bars, accused of robbing a Jack in the Box restaurant and holding two employees hostage.

At around 2 a.m. Thursday, a person outside called police and said there were two masked men inside the restaurant near Bethany Home Road and 43rd avenues in Glendale.

When police arrived, they spotted a man with a blue bandanna across his face. There were two female employees inside the restaurant, apparently being held hostage.

Police and SWAT teams surrounded the restaurant trying to get everyone out.

Glendale police Lt. Johnny Arevalo said a suspect posing as a restaurant employee came out of the restaurant and was arrested and the two female employees exited the eatery unharmed.

The second suspect reportedly hid in the ceiling for nearly 12 hours before being discovered.

The restaurant was closed but the drive-through was open so police believe the suspects may have been inside the restaurant before it closed.
