Man's body found in Cochise CountyPosted: Updated:
COCHISE COUNTY, Ariz. -- U.S. Border Patrol agents tracking a group of illegal immigrants discovered a body west of Parker Canyon Lake on Monday.
The Cochise County Sheriff's Office said the body was found in an extremely remote area 10.5 miles west of Montezuma Pass and 2 miles north of Parker Canyon Road.
The body is described as a medium- to dark-skinned possibly Hispanic male, 20 to 30 years old, wearing two pairs of jeans and three shirts along with black boots and a beaded belt. There was no identification on the body or in the immediate area.
Sheriff's office spokeswoman Carol Capas said there were no obvious signs of trauma.
The body was wet, indicating that he had been in the rain and elements for at least one day, Capas said.
The medical examiner will do an autopsy to determine cause and date of death.
The Mexican Consulate was notified and will be assisting in identifying the man.
Parker Canyon Lake is southwest of Sierra Vista.
