First snow of the season blankets Flagstaff, north countryPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A layer of snow blanketed Flagstaff Saturday morning, and more could be on the way.
Flagstaff residents spent the morning digging out.
"We take care of our neighbors. That's the bottom line," said one man, who was plowing streets in his neighborhood.
Some folks living in the area estimated Flagstaff got at least 3 to 5 inches of snow overnight. According to 3TV's Brittney Shipp, the total was 5.7 inches.
This is the first snow of the season so the popular Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort is not open yet.
The temperature topped out at about 37 degrees Saturday. That cold weather is expected to stick around through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight chance of snow for Sunday and Monday in Flagstaff.
