Big cooldown for the weekendPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Cold front No. 1 for the week rolled through the Valley Wednesday morning, bringing a peak wind gust of 51 miles per hour in Sun City West. Glendale also had winds topping 40 mph. But it was a rather typical “Arizona cold front” that brought winds, cooler temps but no rain or snow to our state.
The next front due in Friday afternoon is going to be a lot stronger. We’re anticipating a chance for showers in the Valley by Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. Snow showers are likely in the mountains. As for temps, Friday’s high will be around 82 degrees. By Saturday afternoon the high will be 20 degrees cooler!
