GILBERT, Ariz. -- A Mesa woman is accused of assaulting two Gilbert police officers.

Police said Oralia Baltier, 24, struck a vehicle and fled the scene in the area near Gilbert and Guadalupe roads. She later returned and was confronted by an investigating officer.

Gilbert police Sgt. Bill Balafas said Baltier refused the officer's commands and assaulted him. An additional officer was assaulted after he attempted to help restrain her.

Baltier was ultimately taken into custody. While in the patrol car she attempted to kick the window out. Balafas said the window became unseated from the frame and the entire door began to buckle, causing a crease in the metal.

Baltier was booked into Fourth Avenue Jail on aggravated assault and DUI charges.
