Tucson headlines: Child sex assault at McDonald's; Child porn suspect suicide

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson man is accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl inside a local restaurant.

It allegedly happened at the McDonald's at Grant and First Avenue.

Police later arrested 34-year-old Ivan Justin Hairston Smythe.

He's been booked in Pima County Jail and charged with sexual assault of a minor under the age of 12.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A man thought to be barricaded in his home shot himself last night.

Tucson police tried to contact a 27-year-old man who was suspected of having photos of child sexual abuse on his computer.

Officers heard a shot inside his home on West Buena Terrace near Flowing Wells and called for additional units.

The man was found dead of a self inflicted gunshot wound.  Officials have not yet released his name.
