MESA, Ariz. -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting at Harris Place Apartments in Mesa.

Aerial video from the scene, which is north of Main Street between Stapley Drive and Gilbert Road, showed a mobile commend unit and yellow crime-scene tape stretched across the parking lot.

According to Mesa police Detective Steve Berry, officers responded to a shots fired call at Harris Place at about 9 p.m. Wednesday. They found a wounded woman inside one of the units.

That woman later died at a local hospital. She has been identified as Jessica Silvas, 29.

At this point police have not made any arrests. It's not clear if investigators have been able to develop any information about a suspect in the deadly shooting.

Berry said detectives are working this as a homicide case, but it's not yet known what led up to the shooting. Investigators are trying to track down neighbors to determine if they saw or heard anything.

If you know anything about what happened at Harris Place Wednesday night, please call the Mesa Police Department at 480-644-2211.
