Fight for Air Climb 2011 is coming upPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- American Lung Association's 3rd Annual Fight For Air Climb event is on Nov. 13. Participants will climb 53 flights of stairs (1,272 steps) in the Renaissance Square towers to raise money for ALA's research and programs and to support the organization's mission to improve lung health and prevent lung disease.
This is a unique and fun fundraising event that is akin to a vertical 5K. It is suitable for all fitness levels and helps to support a great cause. Troy Lees, this year's top fundraiser, climbs in support of his mother who suffers from lung disease.
Lees and Stacey Mortenson of the American Lung Association stopped by to chat with Scott Pasmore about the event.
Climbers are required to raise at least $100 to participate.
The 2011 Fight for Air Climb is Sunday, Nov. 13, 8 a.m., at Renaissance Square, 2 N. Central Avenue in Downtown Phoenix.
