3.6 Earthquake shakes Prescott areaPosted: Updated:
PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- Residents in Prescott, Paulden and Chino Valley may have felt a rumble Tuesday.
The U.S. Geological Survey confirms a 3.6 earthquake shook the ground north of Prescott at 11:20 a.m.
The epicenter was about 18 miles north-northwest of Prescott and 100 miles northwest of Phoenix.
"I was sitting and the whole fence moved and then the metal thing shook so I didn't know what it was really and I just kind of passed it off as something was going on around town," a Paulden woman said.
3TV received a few calls into the newsroom from Paulden and Chino Valley residents reporting that they had felt an earthquake. A Prescott woman emailed and said she and her co-workers felt the earthquake in their downtown office building.
Although some residents reported light shaking, there were no reports of injuries or damage.
