Tucson headlines: Pedestrian struck, killed; Fatal crash; Arson fire

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A pedestrian trying to cross Thornydale Road outside of the crosswalk Thursday morning was hit and killed by a driver.

Charles Greenleaf, 87, stepped into the street just North of Ina Road at about 7:45 A.M.

The driver of the Chevy Suburban couldn't stop in time and has not been cited.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A U of A student, died Wednesday afternoon in a car crash at the intersection of Golf Links Road and Wilmot Road.

Anthony Andrighetto was 21.

He was in a Jeep when a mini van turned in front of him.  The Jeep hit the minivan, then a light pole.

One other person has life threatening injuries.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- An arson fire near Udall Park on the east side, displaced two adults from their home.

Firefighters were able to put it out in less than five minutes and no one was hurt.

The fire started in the bedroom and it caused $10,000 damage.
