I-10, Loop 101 in north and east Valley closed this weekendPosted: Updated:
Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these weekend freeway construction projects. I-10 and the Loop 101 in both the North and East Valley will be closed as Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) crews work on the roadways.
*Eastbound Loop 101 closed between 75th and Seventh avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 23) for HOV lane work, including lane striping in advance of opening another stretch of the eastbound HOV lane by Monday morning. DETOUR: Freeway traffic will detour along frontage road. Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes to avoid heavy traffic.
*Both Interstate 17 ramps connecting to eastbound Loop 101 in north Phoenix closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 23) for HOV lane project. DETOUR: Consider exiting at Deer Valley Road or Union Hills Drive and go east to Seventh Street to connect with eastbound Loop 101.
*Southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) closed between Ray Road and Loop 202 in Chandler from 10 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 22) for lane striping. Southbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Ray Road closed. Northbound Loop 101 closed between Loop 202 and Ray Road from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 23) for lane striping. DETOUR: Drivers can use Price Road as a detour route to travel beyond either closure.
*Eastbound Interstate 10 closed overnight at 16th Street near downtown Phoenix from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Oct. 23) for overhead message board installation. Eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Third Street also closed. DETOUR: Eastbound I-10 traffic will exit to southbound 16th Street and go east on Jefferson Street to access I-10.
