PHOENIX – Police are searching for two people connected to a home invasion that might have been drug related.

Detectives are still piecing everything together, but it started when three armed men showed up at a home northwest of 15th Avenue and Buckeye Road in Phoenix at about 9 p.m. Monday. Those three men were looking for a fourth man who was inside.

As soon as that man spotted the trio, police believe he ran out the back door of the home, leaving behind three women and three children. At one point, at least one of the armed men pointed his gun at the women and children, but he did not fire and nobody was hurt.

The three armed men left a short time later, presumably going after the man who ran away. Capitol police spotted them driving erratically and pulled them over. Unaware of the apparent home invasion that had taken place, the officers took the men’s address and then let them go.

Phoenix police later went to that address, which is near the Capitol, and arrested one of the alleged home-invaders. The other two men remain on the loose. The man they were looking for is also outstanding.

Detectives are not sure what sparked all of this, but they believe it could be drug related.

A resident who lives in the area of the homes told 3TV’s Ryan O’Donnell he would not be surprised if that were the case, saying he often has seen several cars come and go throughout the day.

Police have not released the names of anyone involved in this incident, nor have they provided descriptions of the suspects for whom they are looking.
