Southside neighborhood gathers to celebrate community and prevent crimePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Some south side neighbors are teaming up to stop crime.
The 29th Street Community Celebration and Crime Prevention fair featured all sorts of food, games, and entertainment.
The goal is to fight crime and promote community awareness. The event is now in its 10th year.
"It has grown each year since then, so the numbers they just gave me for 2011 says we've had about 1800 people come through," said 29th Street Weed and Seed Chair Mary Dryden.
People who attended were asked to bring two non-perishable food items for the Community Food Bank.
