SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scottsdale police say an escaped inmate tried to rob a bank while she was on the run.

Dyan Castorena, 40, was captured Thursday, nearly a week after driving away from a Department of Corrections work crew. Phoenix police said she took a car from an auto auction in Tolleson where she worked detailing vehicles.

She was arrested at Casino Arizona by the Salt River Pima Tribal Police.

Castorena has now been identified as the suspect in a Scottsdale bank robbery.

Police said Castorena walked into the Wells Fargo inside the Albertsons at Scottsdale and Thomas roads on Oct. 3 and spilled what she said was a flammable liquid on the counter then lit it on fire.

She did not obtain any cash and no one was injured in the incident.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect flee in a silver four-door sedan, the same type of car Castorena was in when she drove away from the work crew.
