Flirting with triple digits this week

PHOENIX -- After a weekend of below-average temperatures, Valley residents might have gotten used to the feeling of fall, but Mother Nature is turning back clock this week with a blast of summer heat.

A ridge of high pressure means warmer afternoons, with temperatures peaking near 100 degrees both Thursday and Friday.

Look for sunny, dry days and light winds across Arizona.

Clear skies at night will bring overnight lows down the the 60s in the Valley.

Temperatures will start to moderate next weekend, when sunshine and mid-90s can be expected.
