D-backs want 'Blackout' for Game 4 at Chase FieldPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks want a "Blackout" for Game 4 of the National League Division Series against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Diamondbacks players will don their black uniforms Wednesday night and the organization encourages all fans to wear black D-backs apparel to Chase Field.
Black T-shirts will be given to the first 35,000 fans upon entry.
“Following last night's game, our players couldn't stop talking about how incredible our fans were and what a huge role they played in our victory,” said D-backs' President and CEO Derrick Hall in a news release. “They want to wear the black uniforms and we want all of our fans to recreate last night's atmosphere and results on the field.”
First pitch against the Brewers is at 6:37 p.m. with gates opening at 4:30 p.m.
“It was awesome,” said first baseman Paul Goldschmidt of the stadium atmosphere Tuesday night. “Almost 50,000 people here cheering for us. We were in Milwaukee and their crowd was loud. But to get home and get the momentum early with a quick first inning and score a couple of runs, it was definitely a huge momentum boost.”
The club also announced that tickets are still available at all price levels, starting at $12. Tickets are available online at dbacks.com, by calling 602-514-8400 or in person at the Chase Field Ticket Office and any Ticketmaster location.
American Idol finalist and Scottsdale native Scott McIntyre will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner.” McIntyre was the first blind contestant on the popular television competition and finished among the top eight finalists.
