Travel headlines: Drainage work; State Road 86; Tucson gas prices

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Some major road construction underway in midtown.

Crews began working early this morning on a drainage improvement project, blocking off 7th Street between 6th and 5th Avenues.

It will provide a new roadway drainage system and major reconstruction of the Tucson arroyo.

The project cost is $7.4 million.  It will take about six months to complete.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- State Route 86 from Valencia to Sandario Road will be closed tomorrow 10 A.M. to 5 P.M.

If you're on that road, traffic will be diverted onto the shoulders with the speed limit 35.

So delays could take 15 minutes.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Gas prices in Tucson continue to drop.

In the last week, they've gone down 2.2¢ per gallon, averaging $3.27.

Nationally the price fell 5.9¢ to $3.46 a gallon.

Prices are still 77.6¢ higher than last year though.
