Rio Nuevo board moves forward with lawsuit against City of Tucson

TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Rio Nuevo board, moving forward Monday night with a $47 million lawsuit against the City of Tucson, over mismanagement of funds.

Since the state legislature installed a new Rio Nuevo board two years ago, money for fixing up downtown Tucson has been the source of a power struggle between the city council and board members, such as mayoral candidate, Rick Grinnell, who also sits on the Rio Nuevo board.

If the board wins in court, Tucson tax payers would be stuck paying the lawsuit.
