PHOENIX – A car landed in a backyard pool near 46th Street and Camelback Road Monday afternoon.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, a man at the home had just bought a 2005 BMW.

He was having a mechanical issue and was working on the car in the carport. He apparently had asked his grandmother to hold down on the brake, but she hit the gas and plowed through the back of the carport, through the utility room and into the pool.

The woman was able to escape from the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

A tow truck was brought in to try and pull the car out of the pool.
