Fall is coming! (Really!)Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Fall officially arrived a couple weeks ago, but this may be the week it finally feels like autumn around Arizona.
A strong low-pressure system is moving our way from the Gulf of Alaska. Ahead of that low, several smaller disturbances will bring a chance of showers, cooler temperatures and windy weather Tuesday and Wednesday.
When the stronger storm arrives Thursday, the Valley will see temperatures drop to the 70s for afternoon highs, with about a 30-percent chance of rain. That colder air mass could drop snow levels to around 7,200 feet in the high country Thursday and early Friday, although little accumulation is expected.
For today, look for a Valley high of around 99 degrees under partly sunny skies. There's a slight chance of showers today and tonight, but again, a better chance over the next few days.
