Police recover vehicle belonging to murdered Tempe womanPosted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz.--Tempe police are searching for the person or persons who killed a 64-year-old woman and then took off with her car.
The woman, identified as Bonnie Raudman, was found dead in her home on Minton Drive Friday morning.
Police say Raudman's husband, a disabled veteran, is currently in the hospital and became concerned when his wife did not show up for a visit. A caretaker sent to check on Raudman found her dead.
Police are releasing few details about the nature of the homicide.
Raudman's friends and neighbors are devastated about what happened.
"I just can't comprehend why. Why would someone do this to her?" said Carol Lehn, who has lived around the corner from Raudman for more than a decade.
"Whoever did this, I hope they catch this person and he's prosecuted and that he can at least say to [Raudman's husband], 'I'm sorry for what I did, taking your wife away,'" Lehn said.
Police say Raudman's 2010 blue/gray Hyundai Elantra was taken around the time she was killed. Police detectives have located and recovered the vehicle but did not provide details about the vehicle recovery.
