PHOENIX – Phoenix police are asking for the public's help as they investigate a fatal hit-and-run.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday, a man who uses a cane was walking southbound across McDowell Road just west of 32nd Avenue when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson said the car was last seen going south on 32nd Avenue.
The man was transported to a local hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have identified him as Hipolito A. Terrazas, 73.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black or dark green two- or four-door vehicle, possibly a Honda Civic, GEO or Saturn. It had tinted windows, a loud muffler, a smashed front windshield and possibly a broken rear window.
