PHOENIX – A 5-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Thursday morning after being hit by a car in Phoenix.
The boy was walking with his mother at about 7:30 a.m. when he darted out into the street near 24th Street and Chipman Road, just south of Broadway Road. He was hit by an eastbound car.
The driver pulled over and talked with police officers when they arrived at the scene.
Police said the driver was not speeding and impairment does not appear to be an issue.
The boy suffered a broken leg and a bump and cut on his head, according to Phoenix fire officials. He was stable and oriented when he was taken to the Maricopa Medical Center.
