TUCSON, Ariz. -- A midday accident on Thornydale near Magee on the northwest side left some 3,400 TEP customers without power Monday afternoon.

By 2:00 P.M. electricity had been restored to most customers, leaving about 150 without power.

Adam Goldberg of Northwest Fire says a semi-trailer truck hit one pole near the intersection and about 7 others came crashing down.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department has closed Magee between Thornydale and Firethorn and also closed southbound Thornydale from Magee.

Dawn Barkman, a spokesperson for the sheriff's department, says additional restrictions in the area are likely.

No immediate word on any injuries in the accident.
