Tucson faith based groups gather for disaster conferencePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Faith based groups from around Tucson gathered for a conference on disaster relief.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office department talked about their response to the January 8 shootings.
Pam Simon from Congresswoman Giffords office was one of the speakers.
She talked about the community coming together and hopes the conference will help others.
"Over 300 people from this conference are going to go out better prepared with the tools for what happens when in a crisis whether is natural or a man made disaster," said Pam Simon.
The idea for the conference is to allow faith based groups to come together as a whole community in a disaster.
