Grown-up Pork Chops & Applesauce made with Creative Butters

Posted: Updated:

PHOENIX -- Southern cooks will tell you that everything tastes better with butter, especially if you get a little creative. That's exactly what Jennifer Van Inwegen did. The result is Creative Butters, uniquely flavored butters that can add a whole new dimension to pretty much any recipes.

That's right, butter isn't just for toast!

Van Inwegen showed Kaley O'Kelley how to make a simple four-ingredient recipe that's perfect for a fall family meal. It features Honey Cinnamon Butter.

Grown-up Pork Chops & Applesauce

4 thick pork chops, split
4 Tbsp. Creative Butters Honey Cinnamon Butter, divided
3/4 cup yellow onion, diced
1 cup granny smith, diced
Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

In a heavy frying pan, melt 3 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add onion and saute until translucent. Add apples and toss to coat with butter, about 1 minute. Remove from heat and add remaining 1 tablespoon of Honey Cinnamon butter.

Line baking sheet with parchment. Stuff each pork chop with about 1/2 cup of stuffing mixture. Bake for about 30 minutes or until pork chop is done.

Creative Butters are available at AJ's and Whole Foods.

Serves 4.
