Biking advocate makes Tucson stopPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tucson is an award winning bicycling community and Thursday night a national bike advocate was in town for a unique celebration.
Elly Blue from Portland led the 2011 Dinner and Bikes tour, which they called an evening of gormet vegan food and bicycle inspiration. Blue's goal is to travel the western U.S. to learn about the bike economy and culture.
"Bicycling is very economical. It's a good thing for the economy both on a personal level and on a civic level. And second to make that change from non-bike friendly city to a bike friendly city is in our power both individually and collectively," said Blue.
The event was free and open to the public at the Mercado San Agustin.
