Monsoon sweeps through Valley with lightning dust and rain!Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Tuesday is expected to be another active monsoon day across Arizona.
Storms got going early, with plenty of thunder and lightning just after sunrise in Kingman and down through Lake Havasu City. Even stronger storms just west of the Arizona border brought 4-5 inches of rain in just 3 hours to parts of the California desert. Those same strong storms are possible throughout Arizona today.
Almost all of Western Arizona is under a flash flood watch today and tonight for the potential for heavy rain from slow-moving storms.
The Valley has about a 50 percent chance of storms today and tonight, and temperatures should top out just below the triple-digit mark.
Look for just a slight chance of storms tomorrow as stability and dry air returns to our region for the rest of the week and weekend ahead.
