Fourth annual 9/11 motorcycle rally roared through TucsonPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Bikers geared up for the Fourth annual 9/11 motorcycle run to raise money for a memorial site right in Tucson.
It was a moment for everyone to reflect on the victims and those still fighting overseas.
More than three hundred bikers hit the road Saturday to visit American Legion posts all across Tucson.
Despite the traumatic memories of 9/11, the memorial run is meant to be positive and playful.
The motorcycle run is part of an on-going effort to raise money for a 9/11 memorial with a unique center piece.
The memorial site has not yet been determined and certain elements are still in the planning phase.
A large number of veterans are represented in the biker community and Saturday, many thoughts were on the military members who continue their work in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
Each rider pitched in at least $20 to build a site in Tucson to remember the victims of 9/11.
