Tucson's 9/11 tower challengePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- September 11 ceremonies continued in mid-town Tucson where more than 130 people, many of them firefighters and police officers, participated in a 9/11 tower challenge.
Participants climbed the stairs of a 17-story office building a total of seven times.
It simulated the 110-floors of the world trade center where 343 firefighters lost their lives.
"For us, those that were injured over there are coming back, you know, with severe injuries. It's our was of saying thank you to them that they've given so much to this country, for us to give back a little bit," said John Malovich of the Tucson Police SWAT Team.
The event was a fundraiser for the wounded warrior project.
