Body found in car pulled from golf course pond

SURPRISE, Ariz. – A body that was found inside a car pulled from a golf course pond in Surprise on Sept. 8 has been confirmed as a missing Wickenburg woman.

A diver searching for golf balls found the submerged vehicle near Remington Drive and Sunrise Boulevard, according to Sgt. Bert Anzini with the Surprise Police Department.

The body was found inside the car when it was removed from the pond. Police said the car belongs to a woman who was reported missing from Wickenburg.

Leigh Rae Donahue, 51, had been missing since Aug. 12.

Surprise police are working with investigators from the Wickenburg Police Department during this ongoing investigation.
