U of A police educating on bicycle safetyPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- If you drive around the U of A campus, you probably notice hundreds of cyclists a day.
And that's why U of A police were out in force Wednesday.
The cops were not citing students on bikes, but rather educating them on bike safety around campus.
"It's really important they know the rules of the road. There's a lot of traffic going through campus, not only bike riders but motorists and also pedestrians," said Joe Bermundez from the U of A Police Department.
Thousands of cyclists go to and from the campus every week and that's why the police have been doing this program every year.
