Tour AMC Esplanade's new dine-in theaterPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Dine-in theaters aren’t new to Arizona but AMC Esplanade 14 is the first to offer a luxury experience right in the heart of the Valley. The newly renovated space boasts a full service bar and lounge called MacGuffins and two meal and a movie options.
According to Ryan Noonan, Director of Public Relations, how much you spend is pretty much up to you. Tickets range from $6.50 to $15 and are purchased separately from any food or beverages.
The auditoriums are divided into two sections, each offering different dining and movie experiences. The first meal and a movie option is called Fork and Screen. The nine auditoriums feature reserved seating with your own personal call button that discreetly alerts a server for seat side service. Fork and Screen audience members under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Cinema Suites’ 5 auditoriums offer an even more exclusive experience with expanded menu options like lobster ravioli to enjoy on unique swivel tables. There is one caveat to enjoy such specialties: patrons must be 21 years or older.
And when it comes to seating can we talk uber comfort? The super plush recliner nearly left me speechless! And guess what? Blankets are available for your ultimate comfort!
Jason Henderson, Director of Theater Dining, gave me a tour of the kitchen where food is so fresh, even the hamburger isn’t seasoned and formed into a patty until you order it! Menu options include delicacies like blackened salmon, a delicious Tuscan flatbread that uses honey not corn syrup to sweeten the crust, and some of the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had the pleasure of sampling twice! Henderson said that healthier menu options will be added down the line.
And you don’t have to indulge in cocktails to indulge at MacGuffins. The bar has plenty of non-alcoholic options like fruit smoothies and gourmet coffee drinks. Also, you can expect to see themed cocktail creations made especially to go with featured films. For instance when Avatar played, MacGuffins staff created a blue cocktail garnished with a blue glow stick!
So can you still get just popcorn at such a fancy theater? Heck yeah! Only this time its bottomless!
Seats for both movie options can be purchased in advance and you can even pick out your exact seat.
