Person of interest identified in recent Phoenix homicide

PHOENIX - Phoenix police are asking for the public’s help locating a man they consider an investigative lead in a homicide that took place almost two weeks ago.

Police responded to a call of an injured person near 35th Drive and Marshall Avenue, just north of Camelback Road, at about 5 a.m. on Sept. 4. 

Upon arrival officers located a deceased man lying near 35th Drive and San Juan.

Police say the victim, identified as Eric Burwell, 29, had been stabbed to death. The individual whom investigators consider a person of interest is believed to have been with the victim prior to his death.
