Stoops says Foles must control lulls; Texas A&M leaving Big 12Posted: Updated:
The Arizona Wildcats continue preparations for game number one this Saturday against Northern Arizona, a tune up for the toughest early season schedule they've faced in years.
A lot riding on the senior season of Quarterback Nick Foles. He will need to be at his best and there is one area in particular that Head Coach Mike Stoops says the signal-caller must improve.
"It's important that Nick doesn't have lulls in games that go beyond a series. That's critical for us. You go two series, three series, and nothing happening, we can't have that. He's gotta find a play to keep a first down. You can't go three and out, three and out back-to-back. You lose a lot of momentum in these games. I think in games we had lulls last year," said Stoops.
It appears that Texas A&M is definitely done with the Big 12.
The school has informed the conference it intends to apply for membership elsewhere.
Where is the question.
Most are speculating the SEC, but that conference has not yet offered an invitation.
The Aggies have told the Big 12 they will begin their new conference affiliation in July of next year.
