Lawsuit against Sheriff Joe, Seagal after raid in LaveenPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - A lawsuit has been filed against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and celebrity Steven Seagal over what many saw as a questionable raid on a home in Laveen.
The lawsuit claims the deputy sheriff Steven Seagal, under the authority of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, killed an 11-month-old puppy by shooting it in the head during a raid on a cockfighting suspect.
Arpaio said the lawsuit is completely without merit, and numerous deputies and posse volunteers who were present at the raid on March 9 say no dog was ever injured.
Seagal is thinking of filing a counter suit.
