McCain denies holding up judiciary nomination

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Senator John McCain, denying he's holding up a federal judicial nomination.

Speaking after his second Town Hall in Tucson this month the Arizona Republican claims he has not delayed President Obama's nomination of Tucson attorney Rosemary Marquez.

In fact, he claims her name has not been presented to the judiciary committee.

Neither Jon Kyl or I are blocking it, if it is submitted then we will go through the process which is our constitutional responsibility to examine her qualifications.

Both McCain and Kyl have signed off on the president's other nominee to Arizona's federal bench, U.S. Magistrate Judge Jennifer Guerin Zipps.
