TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Arizona Cardinals have shored up their cornerback position by signing Fred Bennett.
Bennett, who was released by the Bengals on Saturday, played in five games for Cincinnati and four for San Diego last season. The 2007 fourth-round draft pick out of South Carolina spent his first three seasons with the Houston Texans. He has played in 49 games, 17 as a starter, with 112 tackles -- 95 solos -- and five interceptions.
The Cardinals also waived-injured linebacker Brandon Sharpe, who has a hamstring injury.
