Metro Phoenix is under pollution advisory FridayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- State air-quality regulators have issued a high pollution advisory Friday for particulate matter in metropolitan Phoenix.
It's the second straight day that such an advisory has been in effect in the state's largest metro area.
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality says the advisories were issued because thunderstorms in southern Arizona stirred up a wall of dust that came into metro Phoenix early Thursday morning.
Other recommended steps include avoiding the use of leaf blowers and off-highway vehicles.
