U of A students welcomed back with free ice creamPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- You scream, I scream, and Tuesday U of A students screamed for ice cream.
From Freshmen to Seniors they were all double dipping their spoons in ice cold bowls of ice cream.
It was all part of the welcome back to campus events at the university.
"It's Wildcat Welcome and so one of things we like to do every year is give students a little bit of a break from the first couple days of classes. So, we provide free ice cream," said Rachel Beech from U of A New Student Services. "All the clubs and organizations here at the U of A have an opportunity to come out and to have a booth so they can get new students interested in their organization."
The first week of school will end with Bear Down Fridays which offers discounts with merchants on University Boulevard.
