Arizona re-signs Kenny Iwebema, inks running backPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- The Arizona Cardinals have re-signed defensive end Kenny Iwebema and running back William Powell and cornerback Thad Turner.
Iwebema played in seven games last year before going down with a season-ending knee injury and subsequent surgery.
Powell, an undrafted rookie out of Kansas State, was released by the team Aug. 2 but returns to give the team a fourth running back after the Cardinals lost rookie Ryan Williams to a torn patella tendon in his right knee. Williams is out for the season and Arizona will be looking to pick up another running back as teams make roster cuts.
Turner was released by New England on Aug. 7 after spending last season on the Patriots' practice squad.
The Cardinals released cornerback Desia Dunn and punter Derek Epperson.
