Tucson stylists provide free back-to-school haircutsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Dozens of school kids will also head back to class with a fresh new look.
Sunday the Great Waves Salon helped provide free hair cuts to boys and girls ready to hit the books.
Stylists from all across Tucson donated their time for the event And only asked that customers bring a canned food item to benefit the Community Food Bank.
"We figured it's a way we can give to the community by giving a haircut. A kid back to school haircut looking good and you know some kids don't get the opportunity to go to a salon," said owner Rufina Monteverde.
There were a lot of smiles as kids got their new do's and each, K-12 customer also left with a bag of school supplies.
