Donny Osmond: My show is 'whatever the audience wants it to be'

PHOENIX --With an entertainment career spanning nearly 50 years, it's safe to say that Donny Osmond is a legend.

The man himself stopped by 3TV Friday morning to chat about his upcoming concert here in Phoenix. (It was a great interview, and Osmond actually left the normally unflappable Tara Hitchcock a tiny bit flustered. Click the video above to watch the entire segment.)

Osmond's upcoming gig at Celebrity Theatre is a very different show from the one he had with his sister, Marie, at the Las Vegas Flamingo Hilton. That was originally a six-month engagement but the response was so huge that the Donny & Marie Show ran for two years, wrapping just last October.

This new show of his is a smaller scale and you never know what song he might sing next.

"It's intimate. It's improv. It's whatever the audience wants it to be," he explained. "Not a lot of entertainers have that kind of show."

Not only will the show rely in large part on audience involvement and requests, there's also a big multimedia element -- tons of videos.

"All of these things are ready to go at a moment's notice," he said. "That's what will be fun about this show. It will be whatever the audience wants it to be."

Osmond will be performing at Celebrity Theatre on Aug. 29. Seating at Celebrity Theatre is in the round. Tickets for rows one through eight are $70. Tickets for rows nine through 25 are $40.
